OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION
IC 466, also known as Sharpless 2 - 288, is a Emission Nebula located 4 degrees south form Delta Monocerotis. Although the nebula is small, it has a fairly higher surface brightness. The object is situated near the celestial equator, therefore it can be seen from both hemispheres. It was discovered by French astronomer Stephane Javelle using a 30 inch f23 refractor telescope.
The image was acquired during a hot summer night in January and with a full Moon.
