OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION
The three galaxies in the center of the image along with NGC 2280 are part of the galaxy group LGG 138 situated 120 million lights years away. NGC 2292 forms a pair with NGC 2293 and has a outer ring that surrounds both galaxies. It is possible that the ring is part of an ongoing merge that will result into a giant elliptical galaxy. NGC 2292 is a lenticular galaxy with hints of a spiral structure populated with old stars giving an orange tad to its structure. Both galaxies are separated by 0,8 arc minutes and cover a distance of 90,000 light years.
NGC 2295 is separated by 3 arc minutes from NGC 2292. Is a spiral galaxy that it is seeing hedge on from Earth.
