OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION

NGC 2453 is an moderately young Open Cluster located in the Constellation of Puppis. It was discovered by English mathematician and astronomer John Herschel in 1837. The cluster quite is compact and has approximately 50 members with a strong concentration. The Open Cluster contains one red (k3) and one blue (B5) bright giants.

Also visible in the image planetary nebula NGC 2452 which is located 8 arc minutes to the south (south is up in the image). There are papers publicised that concludes this two objects are not related since both have different radial velocities.
