OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION

Stuart Sharpless was an US astronomer who carried out fundamental work in the structure of our Milky Way estimated the distance of HII regions. In 1953 he in published his first cataloged of 142 nebulas and in 1953 he released a second edition with 313 objects.

In this case we aimed to the northern side of the constellation of Puppis. This molecular cloud is quite isolated from the sky background. Russian astronomer A.V. Avedisova concludes that the cloud is ionize by open cluster Bochum. Below the HII cloud we have NGC 2409 shining at magnitude 8 with and angular size of 2,5 arc minutes. Barely visible we also have vdB 97 which was washed up by the brightness of the sky in Martinez (Bortle 9)
