OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION

NGC 1977 is one of the brightest Reflection Nebula in the sky. Half a degree north to the Orion Nebula. The name came after the silhouette appearance of a running man . It is part of the well known Orion Sword. The image shows the complex and 1977-75-73. The blue clouds are invaded by dark reds paths of ionized gas shaping the figure mentioned. Most of the blue nebulosity is starlight scattered by dust, while some of the stars are sufficiently hot to excite the wisps of hydrogen that linger here and create a distinctive red glow.
