OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION

NGC 2324 is an irregular shaped open cluster in a rich and relative uniform area in the constellation of Monoceros close to the border of Canis Minor. The cluster presents a distinctive "X" shape and it is found to be a relatively young, metal-poor and distant. Following Tumpler classification this cluster has a medium level of star concentration (II)< medium range of brightness (2) and contains between 50 and 100 stars (r)

NGC 2324 was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel in December 1786.
